Our diocese has a rich museum, archives and library library collection. The presentation of our historical and religious treasures and the related periodic exhibitions, lectures, series of lectures and forums create a bridge between the past and the present. Szent István House of Culture frequently houses presentations, lectures and exhibitions relating to the above and other cultural events.

The sections Current News and Events Calendar under News offer up-to-date information about cultural programmes and invitations, events and programmes regarding the diocese.

The head of the diocese is a bishop, presently Antal Spányi. His motto: „Laudetur Jesus Christus!” He assumes responsibility for the spiritual life of those confiding in him and also for insuring that the local church represents Christ even in today’s world and for offering him to the world as good news and the most precious treasure. The people of our diocese are committed to living their lives and serving in close co-operation and strong spiritual community with him.

Our bishop has supported the development of this website as well that intends to respond to the challenges of the modern day and to assist in community building as well as in offering precise and authentic information. The carefully managed and updated database including information on parishes, priests, non-clergy staff, mass schedules, institutions and events helps visitors obtain information as well as to make and maintain contacts.

Our News helps visitors become familiar with the life of the Catholic community of our diocese. Our Church presents what this life is based on: on the living God, on Christ living among us, on his envoys and on us. We are all the building stones of the church in Christ. Our Diocese introduces some of the living stones: our leaders and their staff. This is followed by the presentation of our ’treasures’ that are derived from the first two: Our History and Our Collections. The content of Media refers back to the present day. Our Contacts ends the main pages of our website that intends to open – instead of closing – a window to other homepages our diocese maintains close ties with. Imprint includes the e-mail addresses of the website managers and staff and offers the opportunity for visitors to make comments.

We look forward to all visitors who wish to know more about our diocese, who have questions or who may be searching for some spiritual refreshment.
